Thought For Thursday
“How many slams in an old screen door? Depends how loud you shut it. How many slices in a bread? Depends how thin you cut it. How much good inside a day? Depends how good you live ‘em. How much love inside a friend? Depends how much you give ‘em.”
― Shel Silverstein
I believe that we are all working parts of this carousel we call life. Each in some way affected by one another. Each given the power to inspire or discourage the next person. Its important that we realize that a kind word or just being your own success story can make a world of difference to people we don’t even realize we affect.
That being said, be the love, change, or inspiration that you want to see in your life. Life is what you make it out to be. This is my thought for Thursday loved ones.

Topic Tuesday - Dairy Of A Mad Grad Student
Recently a prestigious college sent out brochures to its Alumni for donation money. Well, I am sure you know how that went over based on the title of this “Topic Tuesday”. Most that have followed my post know that I tend to stick with posting meaningful information and I promise that the information that follows are very relevant to all that take time to read this.
This student has shed light on one of parents most stressed subjects when it comes to their children……. “College” or “Higher Education”. Yes, we have all been told that college is essential step to success. But is it really? I went to college and graduate school. I feel that is was a great experience from a social standpoint, part of my transition into adulthood in the sense that I learned to balance a checkbook, pay bills, rent, and tuition ALL under fire. I believe that college was mostly educational when it came to learning how to manage my life and not necessarily the application of a specific skill into the workforce. Ever hear these words, “ We are looking for someone with more EXPERIENCE”? What was the degree for?
I encourage you to read this letter from the “Mad Grad”. It is relevant socially, economically, and politically. Ahhh, now……You have been informed.

Thanks for being a blessing loved ones.

Motivation Monday
“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed.”
― Terence McKenna
It is in our nature to doubt. Not just others, most destructively ourselves, whether we’d admit it or not. That doubt would look at a dream, an aspiration and call it an impossible task. We live day by day, living with it, becoming comfortable with it, until we build it up into our own cage, our prison, our reality. Why? Because this is the life we “willed” ourselves. The irony is, we aren’t happy in this place we built. We know that we were meant for something more. We possess everything required to change it. It only requires making a decision. An altered mindset.
The simplest example to this motivational quote is to think back on a time you truly wanted something, like a car. Before you had your mind set on “that car”, it was pretty much non-existent to you. Once it became the focus of your desires, you began to see that particular car everywhere! Our minds/nature/God/ the universes always starts shaping our worlds based on the seemingly “impossible” things commit to.
Moral of the story…….Be relentless about your dreams and it’s only a matter of time.

A Thought For Thursday
“If you end up with a boring miserable life because you listened to your mom, your dad, your teacher, your priest, or some guy on television telling you how to do your sh$@, then you deserve it.” ― Frank Zappa
Simply, live the life you were meant to live, make your own mistakes, grow from them, it's never too late, it's a life long process.

Topic Tuesday
Find Your Identity Yet?
The more life you live the more things are revealed to you about it. You learn that there is one constant theme to it, which is, "the search for where you fit in it, and what your legacy will be" - Your Identity.
Unfortunately, during the quest, we begin to look to basic means to sustain us in route to out desired destination. Our day to day jobs represent that "basic mean" that eventually becomes that "measure" which defines who we are, what we do, and how we measure ourselves.
A Forbes article reflects that "70% of the working class hate their jobs, but never take action to change it! Our jobs, our identity?
Not similar to a drop of water, which losses its identity when it joins the ocean, we do not lose our being in the society we live in.
Our lives are independent. We are not born for the development of the society alone, but for the development of ourselves!
Our Identities are only found by being bold enough to live life on your terms, and never, ever apologize for it. Go against the grain, refuse to assimilate, take the road less traveled. Seeing adversity as opportunity, and practicing leaping more before you look. Conduct yourself as though EVERYBODY is locked in to the channel of your life.
These are the qualities of trailblazers....The qualities of innovators.......These are the qualities of people who have found their identities!!

Motivation Monday
Life is better lived by "letting go" than "holding on", due to the simple fact that "holding on" does not allow room for growth in any aspect of life.
Test the theory. Take a deep breath......hold it......HOLD IT...............you know if you don't let it go....you will surely die. So, let go and live!

Q'z Topic Tuesday
Apprehension about living
Is "living" defined by a heartbeat, the processing of oxygen within your lungs, a brain, and a body? If so, then yes that is one form of existence. But we define ourselves by the state if our lives, accomplishments etc.
However, the vast majority of us, thankful for our functioning bodies, sometimes not, accept lives that we ourselves would admit isn't ideal! Why? We for the most part have been given the same amount of time as the Will Smith's, Beyonce's, Martin Luther King's of the world, and just by being born just as talented in our own ways.
You would say that the people I listened are exceptional people, and they are! However we all have the capacity to change the world if we would only exercise the same "DRIVE" these figures have. Drive is what separates us from them!!
Steve Jobs said, " Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition."
So live life like your time is limited.....cause it is. Lol Live!!! Go after the things in you heart and never let a dream go untested, because doing so, makes regret YOUR inheritance in life.
